Airmen deploying in the upcoming air expeditionary force cycle are scheduled to process through personnel deployment function lines at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Chandler Deployment Processing Center here.

More than 200 Airmen deploying with the 79th Fighter Squadron will process through PDF lines to ensure their readiness for an October deployment to Afghanistan.

Airmen will visit a series of stations as they process through the PDF line. Each station will ensure Airmen have their affairs in order and their questions answered before clearing them for deployment.

Representatives from public health, finance, legal, the chapel and the Airman and Family Readiness Center will man these stations. In the event an Airman hasn't received the required immunizations, he or she will receive that shot on the spot.

"The line is an integral part of our deployment-processing machine," said 1st Lt. Zach Buckallew, installation deployment officer. "It allows us to catch errors before the member goes downrange."

In addition to the PDF lines, Airmen will receive a deployment briefing to include the 20th Fighter Wing office of special investigations, legal, intelligence, public health, public affairs and legal offices.

Airmen deploying to the Air Forces Central area of responsibility will process through PDF lines Thursday, but will not receive the deployment briefing on the line.
