Name released of Airman killed in vehicle accident

Senior Airman Devin L. McDonald was killed on June 12, 2022, in a single-vehicle accident near Sumter, SC.

McDonald, 25, of Buffalo Mills, PA enlisted in the Air Force in May of 2017. McDonald arrived at Shaw in December of 2017 where he served as an installation entry controller with the 20th Security Forces Squadron. 

"Known for his positive attitude and work ethic, our defender family is devastated by the passing of Devin. He was a wingman to all, and he will be greatly missed," said Maj. Kevin D. Collett, 20th Security Forces Squadron commander. "To Devin's family, friends and loved ones, we express our deepest condolences." 

The incident is currently under investigation by the South Carolina Department of Public Safety.
