SHAW AIR FORCE BASE (AFB), SC -- The Shaw AFB Environmental Restoration Program is hosting an Open House and Restoration Advisory Board (RAB) meeting, open to the public, on August 26, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Cherryvale Elementary School, located at 1420 Furman Dr., Sumter, SC 29154.

The Shaw AFB Environmental Restoration Program is responsible for cleaning contaminated water from past operations on and surrounding the base. Community input is crucial to the cleanup process, so the Shaw AFB Environmental Restoration Program is updating a Community Involvement Plan (CIP) and needs your feedback at this event.

The Open House is an opportunity to learn about the base’s environmental cleanup activities and engage with the environmental restoration team, and will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The RAB meeting provides a forum for the base, community, and regulatory partners to discuss ongoing and future cleanup projects, and will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
