Shaw Air Force Base Environmental Restoration Program seeks public participation Published May 11, 2025 20th Fighter Wing Public Affairs Office SHAW AIR FORCE BASE (AFB), SC -- The Shaw AFB Environmental Restoration Program invites the public to an Open House (5:00-7:00 p.m.) and Restoration Advisory Board (RAB) meeting (7:00-8:00 p.m.) on June 2, 2025, at Cherryvale Elementary School (1420 Furman Dr., Sumter, SC 29154). The Shaw AFB Environmental Restoration Program is responsible for cleaning up contamination from past operations on and surrounding the base. The Open House is an opportunity to view detailed project information, learn about the base’s environmental cleanup activities, and speak with members of the environmental restoration team. The RAB provides a forum for Shaw AFB, community representatives, and regulatory partners to discuss and exchange information on current and future environmental restoration efforts.
