The 20th Fighter Wing at Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., provides combat ready airpower and Airmen to meet any challenge, anytime, anywhere.
The 20th FW executed combat air patrol missions over major U.S. cities following the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and continues to perform in the homeland defense role.
Most recently, the wing deployed aircraft and support personnel to Southwest Asia to participate in Operation IRAQI FREEDOM, the campaign that ousted the regime of Saddam Hussein.
To stay combat ready and to protect America and its interests, the 20th FW trains relentlessly.
While the Sound of Freedom is music to our ears, it’s understandable that sometimes a little too much of a good thing can be a bad thing.
