    Maj. Gen Lawrence Wells and his wife Kathy Wells recently visited Oakland Primary School in Sumter, S.C., to read to students. Wells and his wife spent time with the kindergarten students reading and discussing lessons from each book.

    The Shaw Chapel presented a $4,000 check to the United Ministries of Sumter, S.C., and an $8,000 check to Habitat for Humanity, Feb. 14, 2012. Team Shaw pulled together to make the donation happen. The protestant advisory council helped decide how the donation would be distributed.
