8/21/2012 - SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. -- Senior Airman Alyssa A. Deveny, 21, assigned to Shaw's 20th Security Forces Squadron, was found dead in her home Aug. 17 at 12:20 p.m.

An ongoing joint investigation between base and local authorities has ruled the death an apparent suicide.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with family, friends and co-workers during this tragic loss," said Col. Clay Hall, 20th Fighter Wing commander.

Deveny had been stationed at Shaw since March 2010.

All inquiries should be directed to Public Affairs at 803-895-2014 during normal duty hours or to the 20th Fighter Wing chief of public affairs at 850-621-2941 after duty hours.
