Shaw Spotlight: Airman 1st Class Justin Glass

2/5/2013 - SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. -- This week's Shaw Spotlight is Airman 1st Class Justin Glass, 20th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron crew chief from Tuscan, Ariz.
"Airman Glass is a top notch Airman and is committed to Shaw's success," said Tech. Sgt. Jeremy Cory, 20th AMXS crew chief. "Glass is an F-16 expert completing all aspects of maintenance from repairs, launch/recovery, and 'hot pits.'"
Airman Glass can be counted on to complete all tasks professionally and timely," he said.
"I enjoy my place in the blue yonder," said Glass. "It doesn't come easy, and
doesn't come without sacrifice, but at the end of the day, I'm proud to say I
serve, proud to say I play a key role in the mission, and proud to make
things work on many fronts given the hard schedule, long hours, and
constant commitment to my job."
Family: Mother, step father, father and step mother.
Biggest goal: To continue to excel in career field, as well as set up for success in future.
Favorite food: Can of cheese and ritz crackers, oatmeal pies and honey buns. "I'll drop everything for a trip to waffle house, or any kind of barbecue."
Favorite music: 90s country, classic rock, rockabilly and dub step.
Favorite hobbies: Working on my truck, taking it off road onto the 'path less traveled', and any kind of outdoor activities. Hunting, fishing, water skiing, camping. Building scale model cars and parts and spending time with my wonderful and supportive girlfriend.
Biggest accomplishment: Started a very small business three months before joining the service after graduating high school. Over the last three years, it's grown into international recognition. With products in six different countries, logos on three race cars in the United States, one of which is a nationally recognized driver in the World of Outlaws sprint car series, and I have big plans for expansion in 2013.
Heroes: My parents top the list for their direct and indirect lessons I've learned from them growing up. George Carlin rates high on the list for his accomplishments, as well as Jerry Coons Jr, Dave Darland and Tony Stewart for their accomplishments racing in the United States Auto Club.
