We sat down with Airman 1st Class Shadrica Hunt, 20th Medical Group public health technician, to get to know her and her job. Hunt in-processes and out-processes 20th Fighter Wing members, provides travel medicine information and tracks overseas PCS medical requirements. She plans on working towards earning Senior Airman below the zone and eventually becoming a nurse or physician assistant.

    A convoy of Afghan Humvees makes its way down narrow roads in urban Afghanistan while escorting an Afghan Army Corps commander in the summer of 2016. From the rear, a Tactical Air Control Party officer witnesses a rocket-propelled grenade rip through the lead Humvee, as a gunner with a heavy machine gun steps in front of the second, unloading the entire ammunition belt into the windshield. With the commander located in the fourth vehicle, time was limited to react.

Richard Henley, 20th Operations Support Squadron air traffic control and landing systems supervisor, to get to know him and his job. Henley performs daily maintenance on the radio equipment air traffic controllers use to communicate with aircraft, radar systems used to guide aircraft and other mission essential gear. He plans on completing his bachelor’s degree and trying to get into to the Air Force’s Nursing Commission Program.

We sat down with Twylynn Stokes, 20th Contracting Squadron COPPER CAP intern contract specialist, to get to know her and her job. Stokes adheres to Federal Acquisition Requirements to procure off-the-shelf materials from commercial sources, solicits offers and monitors the contract performance. She plans on completing her COPPER CAP intern program and becoming a contracting officer.
